Sources & Research Standards
Updated
Health information on The Diabetes Vibe is based on reputable, current sources. This page explains what we use and how.
Preferred sources
- Peer-reviewed research, systematic reviews and meta-analyses
- Clinical practice guidelines and Standards of Care from professional organizations (for example, the American Diabetes Association)
- Government and public-health agencies (for example, the CDC, NIH/NIDDK, FDA and USDA)
- Manufacturer documentation for device specifications and instructions
How we use sources
- We cite sources for health claims and list them at the end of each article.
- We prefer recent evidence and note when research is limited or mixed.
- We avoid overstating findings from single, small or animal studies.
- We do not use sources with undisclosed commercial conflicts as the basis for health claims.
Nutrition information
Recipe nutrition figures are estimates per serving. Each recipe states how its figures were calculated. Actual values vary with ingredients, brands and portion sizes, and individual glucose responses to the same food differ.
